Chapter 7~ Explanation

Kabir's pov ~

At this moment, I am standing right in front of her house.

It's already 6:30, and I'm running late due to a last-minute meeting. I went towards her house and rang the bell.

"Hey Kabir," Ishi greeted me as she opened the door for me.

"Hi Ishi, um, where's Aadhya?" I inquired.

"Ha ha , ab to tum sirf apni Aadhya ko hi dhundoge , your ishi has been sidelined now" she replied with a playful grin.

(now you will look for Aadhya only)

"Ishi , tum bilkul nahi badli "I chuckled, responding to her teasing.

(Ishi, you haven't changed at all)

"I'm going to be your mother-in-law soon. What's with this 'Ishi, Ishi'! Huh" she joked.

"Well, you’re still my Ishi first, then my mother-in-law," I said, attempting to be serious. "Can you please tell me where your beloved daughter is?" I added, joining my hands in a pleading gesture.

Just then, my Aadhya’s voice floated in, “Sorry for making you wait.”

I turned towards her and, wow, oh my god, she looked marvelous. I could wait a lifetime to see her like this; I honestly didn't expect her to wear that dress.

She was looking exactly like how I envisioned her in it.

So perfectly mine.

“Kabir,” my baby called out, waving her hands in front of my face.

“Ah, yes, it’s all good,” I replied before turning to her mom. “Ishi, can I take Aadhya with me?”

“Of course, have fun,” she said, and we both exited after saying goodbye.

As I approached my car, I opened the passenger door for my princess and then hopped into the driver’s seat.

Once inside, I handed her a bouquet of red roses and said, “You look amazing, and thank you for wearing that dress.”

With a smile, she accepted the bouquet and said, “Where am I supposed to put all these flowers kabir ?” chuckling a bit.

"Wherever you'd like," I smiled back as I started the car.

After a while, the atmosphere between us became awkward again. I couldn’t understand why I lost my voice around her—I just dont know what to say right now.

Breaking the silence, she began, "So about yesterday..." but I interrupted her.

"You don’t need to explain. It was totally your choice, and I’m honestly glad you chose me," I said, feeling fortunate to be with her.

"It's not just about that," she continued. "You deserve an explanation, and I'm sorry for not giving it sooner."

"No need to apologize," I reassured her.

"Look Kabir, I don’t know what I’m doing. This is all very new for me, i dont have any idea how to handle relationships, I am not ready to deal with a relationship like marriage —and quite frankly, I’m not sure if I want to deal with it. But if not you, my mom will surely find someone else to marry me," she confessed.

'Over my dead body i would let any other man to even look at you love', I thought as I looked at her.

"But if marrying is in my future, I’m more than happy if it’s with you," she said, bringing a smile to my face.

"I need time to adjust to this marriage thing," she continued. "As I said, it's all very new to me, very unfamiliar—the concept of marriage and relationships and everything else." I listened intently to her every word.

"Aadhya, take all the time you need. I’ll wait for you, I promise. And don't think you have to be a conventional wife just because we're getting married. Let's start as friends and see where life takes us."

She smiled at my words and said, "Thank you for understanding me, Kabir."

'If not me, who else would understand you, baby?' I pondered while looking at her.

Right now, I needed to be gentle with her. I didn’t want to burden her with the responsibilities of a wife just yet. I was committed to giving her all the time she needed to embrace me as her everything. I will do everything in my power to help my darling to return to her old self, starting as her friend.

Authors pov ~

Kabir's car halted in front of a deserted location.

"Where are we?" Aadhya asked, curiosity shining in her eyes.

"Patience, girl, patience," Kabir said, stepping out of the car to open her door.

"Are you planning to kidnap me?" she asked playfully.

"Tum na thodi kam movies dekha karo," he replied, shaking his head.

(You should watch fewer movies)

"Achha, Lekin hum hai kahan? And why are we here shouldn't we will be going to a restaurant or something ?"" she questioned.

(Okay, but where exactly are we?)

"Are meri maa abhi to hum dost huye, thoda to bharosa kar sakti ho mere upar" he responded.

(Hey, we just became friends; can’t you trust me a little?)

She laughed at his words and it was a genuine laugh ,after so many years she was feeling happy with someone's presence and looking at her Kabir felt another kind of 'sukoon' (peace) that maybe finnally she is getting comfortable with him, perhaps now he could heal her and make her his Aadhya.

"Alright, now let's go" He said and forwarded his hands towards her to hold.

Seeing him giving her his hand Aadhya felt a little hesitant and just as he was going to retrieve his hand, Aadhya places her hands on his and said "let's go."
