Kabir's pov ~
"Kabir, what happened with that American company you mentioned?" my dad asked.
"That one..." Just as I was about to reply, my mom jumped in.
"Oh come on, Veer, give my little boy a break," my mother said, causing me to chuckle.
"Your little son isn't so little anymore, Shona," my father replied, making my mom smile.
"Yes, we're going to their house tomorrow!" my mother said, brimming with excitement.
Tomorrow is the day. After so many years, I’ll finally see her again.
Everyone thinks this is an arranged marriage, but they don’t realize there’s much more to it.
The last time I saw her, I was just 9, but since then, I've been captivated by her. Back then, I just wanted to be friends, but now my feelings have turned into an obsession to love her, to have her and to be with her.
I've never stopped liking her. I haven’t had any other girlfriend because she holds my complete attention like no one else.
So when my mom told me about this marriage, I felt like I was on cloud nine. It truly feels like a dream come true.
But there's something worrying me; my Aadhya seems different now—more withdrawn and distanced from the outer world.
I sense something is wrong, but I won’t find out until she chooses to share her feelings with me.
I’m prepared to wait patiently until she feels comfortable enough to confide in me about her struggles.
"Are we still set for six tomorrow, Kabir?" my mother’s voice snapped me back to reality.
"Yes, Mom, I’ll come home early and let Dhruv and Akash know too."
Dhruv and Akash are the idiotic characters in my life; they’re like brothers to me, much more than just friends.
"I think you're more excited about this marriage than he is, Shona," my father teased.
"Why shouldn't I be? It's not every day your little boy gets married, especially to such a sweet girl!" my mother replied, making me smile.
She truly is the sweetest girl ever.
"Do you remember, Veer, how much Kabir loved spending time with her when they were kids?" my mother chuckled. "Time flies so fast; I never imagined she'd end up as my daughter-in-law."
"Don’t pretend, Shona," my father joked, giving her a knowing look. "You and Ishani were the matchmakers."
My mother laughed at that. "Have you seen them back then? They were so adorable, and Kabir listened to everything she said."
"Alright, enough of that!" I said, flustered. "I’m heading to my room." And I left, blushing.

Once in my room, I found myself scrolling through her Instagram.
Her account was filled with pictures of herself and her books.
Yes, my Aadhya is a writer. She writes fiction mostly.
I’m incredibly proud of her. She comes from a wealthy background; if she wanted, she could easily take over her father's successful business, but instead, she chose to be a writer, all on her own.
She’s truly special.
Suddenly, two idiots barged into my room, with one of them flopping down on my bed.
"Sooooo, we heard you’re getting married!" Dhruv exclaimed, lounging like it was his house.
"Yes... you have a problem with that?"
"Not a problem, but HOW DARE YOU NOT TELL YOUR BEST FRIEND ABOUT YOUR MARRIAGE?" He shouted, prompting me to kick him in his ass.
"Shut up! Just so you know, I got the news only yesterday."
"That's plenty of time Dhruv! He could've told us sooner," Akash chimed in, fanning the flames.
"Yeah, I’m starting to think you don’t love me anymore," Dhruv added dramatically.
"Happy realization," I responded, making him glare at me.
"Okay, okay, jokes aside," Akash cut in. "Who’s the girl you’re marrying?"
"You guys already know her," I told them.
"Last I checked, you didn’t have a girlfriend, so... wait," Akash’s eyes widened, "don't tell me it’s her." The realization hit him.
I nodded. "Yes, it's my Aadhya—the love of my life."
"Oh my god, did you finally propose?" Dhruv asked.
"No, it’s an arranged marriage."
"How is it's an arranged marriage ? you know her and have been obsessed with her already," Akash pointed out.
"Yes, but that’s just between us; no one else knows, not even her."
"Ohhhh," they both said in unison.
"Tomorrow we’re going to their house," I informed them, "and you two are coming along."
"Okay, Captain," they replied.
I’m so incredibly excited for this.
Finally, Aadhya will be mine—just mine.
